EL AL CANCELLATION POLICY RELATED TO COVID 19 PANDEMIC

Everyone has been going through an unforeseen time right now because of the COVID 19 pandemic. Plans were changed and they might keep changing again. However, EL AL airlines fully understand that it is offering a very generous and flexible change and cancellation policy.

Passengers whose flight has been compelled to cancel are given 2 options. One is to cancel and get an airline credit which will be valid till the date written on your voucher/credit. This will apply to tickets that will depart until 30 November 2023. The credit can be used for any destination and can be transferred too. You will be able to use two vouchers at a time for a booking and three modes of payments can be used too for a booking which may include; card, voucher, and points.  If you didn’t end up using the voucher, you can convert that into a cash refund 21 days before the voucher expires.

The other option is that passengers can cancel their booking and ask for a full refund for the products you paid for. If there were points associated with the booking it will be transferred to the frequent flyer account and you will not get a monetary bonus for it.

EL AL AIRLINES CANCELLATION POLICY IN NORMAL TIMES

Passengers can cancel their ticket within 14 days of booking and 7 days or more before departure. If you can follow this rule, you will be charged only 5% of what you paid originally for your reservation or NIS 100 whichever is cheaper.

Do keep in mind that this transaction rule will apply only if you book it with the service center and only if you book it on their official website. If you make your reservation with a third party you will have to cancel according to the ticket rules. Only solely unused tickets will be eligible for free cancellation and not if you have a partially used ticket. You may be refunded the amount you paid for your flight excluding the service handling charge.

Passengers who are senior citizens and who are differently-abled are requested to contact the airline to make a cancellation and the airline will do what they can to cancel it for you in your best interest.

All other tickets will be canceled depending on their fare rules or ticket.

EL AL AIRLINES FLIGHT DELAY AND CANCELLATION POLICY

 If the airline delays or cancels any passenger’s flight for any reason, the airline will make a schedule change for the passenger and it is totally up to the passenger to accept that or not. They can choose to accept the schedule change or ask for a refund/credit instead.

In a case like this, the airline can name some factual situations as the reason for cancellation. For instance, there can be a natural calamity, state emergency, security concerns, operation failure, lack of passengers, issues with the pilots, mechanical error, etc.

PASSENGER INVOLUNTARY CANCELLATION

If a passenger is canceling because of any extenuating circumstances like a death in a family, sickness, any medical issues, judicial order, strikes, government order, etc., there will be no cancellation fee charged to him/her. The passenger has to provide the files which the airline will ask for as evidence.

NO-SHOW POLICY

If any passenger fails to cancel earlier than the departure time no matter what fare kind/type they have, they’ll be marked as a no-show. No passenger is eligible for compensation if they’re marked as a no-show. The entire flight price will be forfeited and you will now no longer get compensation.

so, please ensure to cancel it earlier than your departure date and time.

 

REFUND POLICY

Passengers can cancel their booking and ask for a refund in the same way it was booked. In other words, if you booked online, you can cancel and seek a refund online, if you booked through a third party, you can ask for a refund through that third party, and if you booked with the airline directly, refunds have to be asked with the airline themselves.

And please remember that refunds for a canceled flight on a website will be made only if the ticket is wholly unused.

EL AL AIRLINES CANCELLATION STEPS

Passengers can make cancellations in different ways. You can, by yourself, cancel it on the airline’s official website or app. You can also contact the airline directly to cancel it for you or you can simply choose to cancel it through a third party if you previously booked your reservation with them.

If a passenger desires to cancel online or on the app, we advise you to follow these steps:

-First of all, log in

-You can skip the login process if you already have the airline account

-Next, Click on “My Trip”/ “My Booking”

-Choose the ticket which you wish to cancel from the available flights

-Press on cancellation

-Confirm your cancellation from the pop–up message by clicking “Yes”

-After your trip is canceled, you can claim a refund if you are eligible

If you are qualified for a refund, you will get it in 7-10 working days based on the previous mode of payment and the refund will be made to the account with which you paid for your flight.

If you are canceling by calling the airline, you need to call +18002236700. To confirm your reservation, you will be asked for your confirmation code, first name, and last name. After verifying your reservation, you can request the agent who is helping you to cancel flights for you. And while you are in the process of canceling, you can ask them if you are entitled to get a refund. You can also ask them any concerns about your ticket.
