Lot Polish Airlines have been very understanding of their passenger’s situation at this time. The airline itself is going through a lot but that doesn’t stop them from being generous to their passengers considering that they cannot do anything about the pandemic.

For all those cancelled flights scheduled between 15 March 2020 and 31 October 2021, passengers are given a few options on how to go about it.

*First of all, passengers can get a voucher or an airline credit upon cancelling. You can use this credit in your future booking of flight along with seats, meals, special service request, etc. It will be valid for 2 years from the issuance date.

And if your newly booked ticket costs less than the originally cancelled booking, you would get back the fare difference as a new voucher which will be valid for 24 months again. One of the best features of this concept is that it is transferable. If for any reason you couldn’t travel within the given span of 2 years, you can transfer that voucher to someone else of your choice.

-To make a new booking with your voucher in the future, you can go to lot.com and tap on “Manage my booking”

-Get the “Ticket exchange” form

-complete the normal choice of flight

-You will get a confirmation email of your exchanged booking

-You can also contact the airline or third party if you booked your original ticket with them.

*Second choice for passengers would be to change their departure with no fee. You can book a new flight any time before 31 December 2021.

If your booking is for 15 March 2020 and 31 March 2021, you can change your flight with no penalty for any date before 31 December 2021.

If your booking is for 1 April 2021, you can change your flight with no penalty for any dates which are 30 days before or after the original departure date. If 30 days before or after the original departure is not available, the first available date after 30 dates will be counted.  Even if there is any fare difference, passengers don’t have to pay.

If a passenger deliberately books a flight for a date after 30 days from the original date, he/she has to pay fare difference if any.

In any case, considering this exchange concept, one has to book a flight within 1 year from the original date.

If your original departure date is before 31 December 2020, upon rebooking/exchanging you would get a 30% discount on your next booking.

If your original booking is between 10 September 2020 and 31 October 2021, you are allowed to change your date and routes multiple times within 1 year from the ticket issuance date with no cost.

*Thirdly, passengers can seek a refund if your booking is cancelled because of the pandemic. It doesn’t matter what fare type it is.

*For any group booking, passengers are requested to contact their point of sales.

LOT Polish Airlines allows free cancellation for 24 hours within booking regardless of fare rules, be it refundable or non-refundable given that it is being canceled 7 days or more before departure. It is best to follow this policy in order to avoid penalties.

If you cancel after 24 hours after booking, there will be a cancellation penalty charged to you. And if you have a refundable booking, the remaining value of the ticket will be refunded to you after deducting the cancellation fee. However, if your booking is of non-refundable type, your value of the booking will be forfeited and you shall not get a refund. Passenger’s cancellation fee is determined by the fare rule/type and the date of departure.

If you cancel your flight after 24 hours of booking, there will be a cancellation fee of $100-$500 and if you cancel within 24 hours of your departure, there shall be a cancellation fee of $100-$400. Please be mindful that a refund will not be made for an expired ticket.

If the airline delays or cancels any passenger’s flight for any reason, the airline will make a schedule change for the passenger and it is totally up to the passenger to accept that or not. They can choose to accept the schedule change or ask for refund/credit instead.

In a case like this, the airline can name some factual situation as the reason for cancellation. For instance, there can be natural calamity, state emergency, security concerns, operation failure, lack of passengers, issues with the pilots, mechanical error, etc.

If a passenger is cancelling because of any extenuating circumstances like death in a family, sickness, any medical issues, judicial order, strikes, government order etc., there will be no cancellation fee charged to him/her. The passenger only has to give the documents which the airline will ask for as evidence.

If any passenger fails to cancel before the departure time regardless of their fare type, they will be marked as a no-show. No passenger is eligible for a refund if they are marked as a no-show. The whole value of the ticket will be forfeited and you shall not get anything so, please make sure to cancel it before your departure date and time based on your fare time.

Passengers are asked to make a refund request by filling up the refund form on their official website. Due to very high numbers of applications, there are lots of delays in the processing at the moment. Passengers are requested to be patient with the airline.

Passengers can make cancellations in a few ways. You can cancel it by yourself on the airline’s official website or app. You can also contact the airline’s reservation team to cancel it for you or you can simply cancel it through a third party with whom you booked your reservation.

If a passenger wants to cancel online or on app, we suggest you to follow these steps:
