tension-free experience to get fliers reservations and bookings cancelled
OR even rescheduled OR changed if the flier wishes so. Here is how Fliers can avail the most
out of flying United Airlines.
24 Hour Flexible Booking
Here at United Airlines Fliers are offered an easy 24-hour flexible booking policy wherein passenger
who have made reservations one week prior to the designated flight schedule can cancel or change
Passengers with Basic Economy tickets are not eligible for subsequent changes within the
pre-booked travel itinerary but however, are eligible to avail the 24-hour full refund policy if they
choose to cancel their booking (provided that they have booked their flights prior to one week of
their scheduled departure).
This offer is applicable on bookings only made on the official website of United Airlines at
www.united.com OR at Airport Ticket Vendors, United City ticket vendors or through United
The 24-hour window starts from the time the booking is made with the airlines.
Requests for a refund made by the passengers who have opted for cancellation can get the value
amount of the fare ticket reverted back to the passengers’ original mode of payment. However, if
passengers have booked reservations through Gift Certificates issued by United Airlines, value will be
credit back to the passenger in the form of Electronic Travel Certificates.
Fees paid in the form of FareLock to hold reservation for passenger in case of cancellations shall not
United Airlines generally only offers full refunds that comes within the 24-hour flexible booking
window. United Airlines for all other practical purposes offers its passengers the return of the value of
ticket in the form of electronic travel certificates which the passengers can redeem in the future for
booking flights with the airlines.
Refunds for tickets other than the 24-hour flexible window will only be accepted in the events of an
unforeseen circumstance that prevents/prohibits the flier from using the ticket within one year of
the first issued flight date. This policy is also made applicable for situations where:
-Death of the passenger OR of the travel companion OR of an immediate family member of
the passenger occurs that prevents him travelling
-In case the passenger with reservation is obliged with jury duty on the same date of the
-In case of certain illness contracted/diagnosed by the passenger
In all other instances the passenger on cancellation will be provided e-travel certificates that can be
redeemed for travel with the airlines in the future.
In the event that the passenger is unable to make the designated trip due to any of the reasons
stated above, and wishes to make changes to their existing travel plan, then the passenger will be
made liable to pay an applicable change fee.
If the passenger is affected by any of the reason listed above, they can avail a discount and is
applicable to all fare class, loyalty programme award ticket, promotional, bulk and also net fares.
Refund Policies for Certain International Regions
It is hereby informed to the customers that the tickets that is issued United Airlines are by default
non-refundable. Only in cases where the customer has bought a refundable are ticket or qualifies
under the terms and conditions of getting a refund by the airlines will the passenger be

Right of Withdrawal: Under this case passenger are allowed to travel with the airlines provided that
they have booked reservations 24 hours before hand. In-case of applied cancellations by the
passenger the airlines will retain 10% of the fare. This policy however does not apply for promotional

Provided that the passenger has booked reservation from the official United
Airlines website at www.united.com or through a United Customer Contact Centre, fliers can now
cancel their reservations 48 hours after purchase, on which $50 or up to 10% of the fare plus
non-refundable taxes and administrative charges may be levied by United. For this policy to be
applicable cancellation must occur at least 15 days before the scheduled flight departure.
For passenger to claim a refund it is mandatory that they fill out a request form to avail
compensation back for fares or taxes that they haven’t used and is no longer valid. The claim to
reimbursement will be processed within 30 days of the claim and no additional administrative fees
will also not be levied if the passenger provides for an email address.
International Airlines Passengers Services are exempted from the seven-day refund policy that is
stated in Art.19 of Taiwan’s Consumer Protection Act as there are provided exemptions within the

refunds should be contacted/ processed through the competent issuing airlines authorities.
