KLM AIRLINES CANCELLATION POLICY

Passengers who wants to change or cancel a booking can do so according to the fare rule.  Situations occur when passengers had to cancel the ticket or make changes in the travel plans; for easy handling in such a situation,  it is best for passengers to add Flexibility to your light or Standard Ticket at the time of the booking. The KLM Flexibility service allows passengers to make changes in the booking without any charge. Passengers will be able to see the conditions for cancelling the ticket in the Booking Confirmation e-mail.

HOW TO CANCEL KLM FLIGHT

PASSENGERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AWARE OF THE AIRLINE’S CANCELLATION POLICY BEFORE CANCELLING THE BOOKING

Steps to cancel your reservation with KLM:

If you are eligible for a refund, you will be refunded in 4-6 weeks on the account with which you paid for the booking.

*To cancel the ticket, the passenger need to choose the ‘My Trip’ tap on the KLM Airline website.

*You will now have to retrieve your booking by entering the credentials that the website asks for (booking reference number and passenger’s last name).

*As you log in, you will be led to the ‘Manage Booking’ page where you will see the ‘Cancel My Flight’ option.

*Select the booking which you wish to cancel from the dropdown.

*You can then there complete the cancellation process by reconfirming the cancellation by pressing on the “Yes” option that is given.

* After your trip is cancelled, fill the refund request on the given option if eligible

If you want to cancel your booked flight through a phone call, you may dial the calling number XXXXXXXXXXX. You will be asked for the confirmation code, first name and last name to verify your reservation. After the provision of the required details, you may ask the reservation team’s agent who is assisting you to cancel the certain flight that you want to cancel. And while doing so, you may check with them whether your ticket is eligible for a refund. The agent will be there to clarify any doubts and queries you have related to your ticket.

24 HOURS FREE FLIGHT CANCELLATION POLICY

*KLM Airlines gives passengers the freedom to cancel their flight within 24 hours  without any cancellation penalty and will get a full refund of the ticket price.

*You can make changes in your booking thrice (within Europe) without any change fee within 24 hours after the reservation has been made.

*According to the KLM delayed flight refund policy, if changes are being made in the higher fare flight, the passenger has to pay the change fee. In other words, if the passenger’s newly booked reservation has higher fare than the original one, he/she has to pay the fare difference.  The recalculated tax amount maybe added to the new ticket price.

*Regarding a change made in the original booking, if your changed reservation has a lower price than the original ticket price, there shall be no refund made to you for the fare difference.

CANCELLATION FOR NON-REFUNDABLE TICKETS

Before the cancellation of a booking, passengers are advised to check out whether the tickets are refundable or non-refundable. Only if the non-refundable booking is cancelled within 24 hours, it will be fully refunded but 24 hours after the booking has been made, tickets will no longer be refundable for a non-refundable ticket.  

KLM Airlines, at the moment, is not giving refunds to those passengers whose flight got cancelled by the airline.  Instead of a cash refund, they are providing a voucher/airline credit which will be valid for 1 year. You can use this in your future booking of flights including seats, meals, any service request, etc.

KLM REFUND POLICY

Passengers are notified that if you request for a refund, all the flights in the booking will be cancelled. The refund may be processed within the time period of 2-4 weeks and the refundable amount will be received through the same mode and currency of payment used while the booking was first made.

A refund can be requested

*If your flight was cancelled before 24 hours of the booking.

*If your booked flight was cancelled and for which you did not take an alternative flight.

*If your ticket is refundable.

* In a situation where the passenger falls ill or in a case where his/her loved one dies.

*If the airline changed your flight schedule and you are not fine with the change.

*In case you cancel your ticket because a European flight was delayed for more than 90 minutes and where your outgoing and returning flight were to be on the same day.

*If your intercontinental KLM flight gets delayed for 3 hours and you had to cancel the reservation.

* In a situation where your VISA was rejected.

KLM AIRLINES NO-SHOW POLICY

If any passenger fails to cancel the ticket before the departure time, regardless of the fare type they have, they will be marked as a no-show.

 No passenger is eligible for a refund if they are marked as a no-show. The whole value of the ticket will be forfeited and you shall not get anything as compensation. Passengers are thus advised to make sure to cancel the reservation before their departure date and time based on the fare type.

KLM FLIGHT CANCELLATION FEE

PASSENGERS ARE REQUIRED TO READ THE KLM AIRLINES’ CANCELLATION POLICY BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE CANCELLATION PROCESS

*If a passenger cancels a booking made with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight, he/she will be charged the Airline’ cancellation penalty of $100 to $400. *Passengers who do not want to pay the cancellation fee are advised to cancel the booking 7 days or 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure time.

*The amount of the cancellation fee would be decided upon the distance, duration, class or other major factors.

In a situation where the passenger has fallen ill, injured or is under the grip of a travel restriction and had to cancel the booked flight, he/she needs to submit the required document for the Airline to wave off the cancellation fee.
