Tropic Ocean AIrways

Charter flights with Tropic Ocean Airways are available in two category classes: VIP and Signature. Both classes provide tailor-made options for you to get the best flexibility, comfort and use out of your charter flight. You can opt for the VIP class to visit the Bahamas, Experience the Virgin Islands or fly directly to your yacht out at sea.

Both Charter service classes provide Flying Schedule based on the passenger’s convenience, dedicated charter specialists, exclusive lounge excess, simple check-in and 5-star customer service. Passenger Check-ins

Passengers are required to reach the airport at least 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Failure to meet the required deadline may result in the passenger being liable to pay Late Passenger Fees which will amount to $500 per hour for each hour fraction of hour that the aircraft remains on standby.

If the charterer does not show up for at least one hour after the scheduled departure and does not contact the airline of delay, then the case shall be considered a no-show and forfeit the flight and all payment made.

Chartered Flights Requirement

Each individual/passenger is responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents inclusive of passports, visa, tourist card, immunization certificate and any other documents as required. They should comply with the laws of each country from, through or to which he/she/them are receiving transportation from or intend to reach.

Air Tropic Flight Safety

Tropic Ocean shall have complete discretion over all operations of the flight and also hold discretionary power over cancellation of the flight over concerns of safety of the flight service in any way or form.

Tropic Airways retain the right to deny boarding to any person that:

  • Appears intoxicated or under the influence of illicit or controlled substance.
  • Refuses to oblige for reasonable checks oh him/herself or their luggage by authorities or the government.
  • Those who exhibit incapacity or illness that could result in harm to themselves or to others.
  • Exhibits any form of improper behaviour towards the crew or other flight members.
  • Fails to provide valid forms of Government identification.

Baggage Policy

Baggage allowance for charters and standard booking are as follows:

Bag dimension should be made sure to not exceed 14″H x 41″L x 27″D.

Passengers should make sure that they submit advance written arrangements for transportation of pets, firearms and ammunition. The airline needs to accept the arrangement request or else will not be accepted for travel.

The airway does not accept hazardous material” (also known as HAZMAT, Dangerous Goods and DG) is defined as any article or substance the transportation of which by air is prohibited, restricted or otherwise affected by any rule or regulation of the DOT, including the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), the FAA or the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Passengers are prohibited from smoking on all flights and lithium ion batteries are not to be included as checked baggage under any circumstance. Passengers are advised to carry laptops, mobiles, phones etc. as carry-on items.

Private Charter

  • 208 Seaplane (Up to 8 guests): 1,500 to 1,800 total lbs (varies with location)
  • Wheeled Caravan (Up to 9 guests): 1,700 to 2,500 total lbs (varies with location)
  • 206 Seaplane (Up to 4 guests): 700 to 750 total lbs (varies with location)

Scheduled Service

  • Bimini and Nassau – 30lbs per person
  • Great Harbour Cay – 50lbs per person

Flight Cancellation

In case a charterer decides to cancel their charter before 14 days of flight under the standard terms and conditions set by the airlines then they will be afforded a refund of the booking except the $500 non-refundable fee and any other credit card processing fee that may have been applied or incurred.

In case the cancellation is made within 14-7 days of the scheduled flight date then the charterer will be extended a credit line that can be used for travel any day within 12 months from the date of issue.

In case of cancellation made within 7 days of the scheduled flight date then all payment made by the charterer for the base fare shall be forfeited.

Flight Cancellation

For passengers to bring along their pets, a written letter has to be given to Tropic Ocean Airways for acknowledgement and approval. Without approval, a passenger’s service animal or pet will be denied boarding. 

Passengers travelling with service animals or pets are required to pay a deposit of $250 for cleaning fee or additional maintenance that could be caused by the animal during the flight.

ANS: A non-scheduled flight or an on-demand flight. The flight cannot be booked online. To book a private charter the patron has to fill out a form from the official website and will be contacted with a private quote.

ANS: A private charter gives you access to the entire craft and allows the charterer to book their own arrival and departure location and time. A scheduled service is a weekly scheduled service and is charged per seat booked.

ANS: The child must be under 24 months old or 2 years old for travel at the time of flight. Children above the age of 2 are required to have their own seat. A lap child must be held at all times for the entire duration of the flight. Only one child for each ticketed adult.
