Sarasota

Sarasota is a city on the southwestern coast of Florida, located in Sarasota County. In the Sarasota area, the Sarasota School of Architecture, beaches, cultural and environmental institutions, and resorts are all well-known.

During the early twentieth century’s real estate boom, the city’s boundaries had grown to about 70 square miles (180 km2). Following the crash of the wild speculation bubble in 1926, the city borders began to decline, reducing to less than a fifth of their original size.

Best Places and Popular attractions in Sarasota Florida

You’ve arrived at the perfect place if you appreciate spending time in nature. Relax on nearby Lido Key’s Lido Beach or marvel at the butterflies in the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, which is one of Florida’s oldest and largest state parks.

Visit the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art or Ca’ d’Zan to learn about some of the city’s most illustrious residents. If you think this small city on Florida’s west coast is like any other in the state, think again. The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, the Art Center Sarasota, and other craft exhibits and festivals are among the many art-related activities and events that draw art lovers and collectors to Sarasota.

Art in this country, however, is not restricted to traditional works like paintings and sculptures. In this seaside city, ballet, opera, and circus acts are all popular types of entertainment. Sarasota, on the other hand, is a circus hotspot. Two of the Ringling Bros. Circus’ founders, John and Charles Ringling, moved to Sarasota just before it became a city in 1913.

Best time to visit Sarasota Florida

Sarasota is best visited between March and May, and September and November, when crowds, temperatures, and prices are at their lowest. (However, if you travel between June and November, Storm Season in Florida, you may encounter a hurricane.)

The city’s warmest months are December, January, and February, but Sarasota’s population grows with Northern residents in the winter, which means Sarasota’s streets will be congested and its attractions will be crowded. During these months, prices are also at their peak. Travelers should visit between June and August for somewhat decreased crowds and lower hotel and flight charges. Visitors should expect a lot of rain and humidity, as well as highs in the low 90s during the summer.
