Aztec Airways Baggage Policy

Aztec Air allows a maximum of one free luggage each per passenger weighing not more than 35 pounds, included with the ticket. Additional charges will be levied at $2 per pound and subjected to availability of space. Dimension of the luggage should be within 24″x13″x12″.

Luggage and items above the specified dimensions of 24″x13″x12″ shall cost an additional charge of $10 per item at the rate of $2 charge per pound. 

Irregularly shaped items shall be subject to an additional cost $100 per item at the rate of $2 charge per pound.

Passengers carrying heavier and irregular items and luggage are advised to contact TWINex to take advantage of cheaper and direct shipping to Eleuthera Island.

Travelling with Childern

Aztec Air requires single parent travelling with children below the age of 18 to have a notarized letter from the child’s other parent while travelling out of the country. Minors travelling unaccompanied must be at least 12 years of age. 

Travelling with children to the Bahamas:

  • In general cases children under 16 years of age may travel into the Bahamas with just a proof of citizenship
  • Proof of citizenship can be through a raised seal birth certificate and ideally a government issued ID card while travelling by air or private vessel.
  • Any children travelling with just one parent listed as on the birth certificate must provide a letter as sworn on a notary public and signed by the absent parent for the child to travel. In case of deceased parent, a death certificate must be provided.
  • If a child is travelling with a guardian or a chaperone than the child must carry a notarized consent letter signed by the parents as on the child’s birth certificate.

Pet Policy

Pets are all welcome aboard Aztec Air, just make sure to have the following formalities completed:

  • A reservation for your pet while you book online from the official website
  • Ensure that the pet has all necessary current and appropriate documents for travel, including a microchip
  • A pet crate and a muzzle is best to keep at hand
  • No pets will be allowed to fly unaccompanied

 

Pet Fees for one way:

  • For a pet that weighs less than 10 pounds carried in a soft carried on the lap; $10 (one way).
  • Total weight of 10-35 pounds including the weight of the crate, subject to availability of space; $100.
  • Total weight over 35 pounds will require a full reservation.
  • Please make sure to go through the Bahamas Pet Regulation and Information and be sure to get a permit.
  • Pets should be at least 6 months of age and have a current rabies certificate.

Covid 19 Restrictions

  • Unvaccinated fliers are required to take an RT-PCR COVID-19 test within three days of arrival from an accredited lab
  • Vaccinated fliers need to upload their Vaccination card along with a negative result from a Rapid Antigen Test.
  • Children between the age of 2-11 years of age are required to upload a negative COVID report either taken from an RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test within 3 days before travel.
  • Travellers arriving by sea must produce a valid international Travel Health Visa from the official Bahamas website and provide either a COVID-19 negative report or a certificate of full vaccination.
  • Any person who fails or refuses to take a test is liable to pay a fine of $1000.
